One of the awesomest nerdfighters of all time, Esther Earl, just took a turn for the worse in her battle against metastasized papillary thyroid cancer. At just over 16 years old, this wonderful spunky girl has so much life in her, and she simply can't give in to her condition, but unfortunately last night she was admitted into an ICU unit because she was having difficulty breathing, and her kidneys aren't processing liquids as quickly as she gets them. This poses serious problems for her, and her parents were informed that she could go overnight. This is such a frightening prospect, and knowing that she means so much to the nerdfighting community makes her health of the utmost importance. Please, take a moment to visit her site, and do whatever you can for her.
One of her favorite charities is the Harry Potter Alliance*, and as many of you know I was able to go to the HP Alliance press conference at Infinitus this summer. She was the special guest for the event, Skyping from her home in Massachusetts. She really is a wonderful person, and it would be far too soon for her to leave this world and all of us behind. So please, do whatever you can for her, even if it's to send a prayer her way.
